IT WAS ALMOST MAY.

9 DAYS UNTILL MY BIRTHDAY.

 ON THURSDAY I HAVE  BALLET.

Cornbread

"Can I make cornbread?" I asked my mom as she was still laying in her bed this morning.  "Sure," she said. "Go turn the oven on. Press Bake. 3-5-0. Start." I repeated "bake 3.5.0. start" as I headed back towards the kitchen. My mom finally came down and pulled up a recipe on her phone. She got some of the ingredients for me, like the baking powder, flour, and sugar.  I got to work measuring and mixing. I asked my mom how much butter to put in the microwave. She said, "Five and 1/3 tablespoons." I cut the butter and put it in the bowl my mom handed me. I put the butter in the microwave for thirty seconds and got back to mixing. I poured the batter into the pan and mom put it in the over. That's when we heard the microwave beep. "What's in the microwave? Did you remember to put the butter in?" she asked. "Oh no!" I thought. Soccer

 Today, my sister had soccer practice. I had to go because my other sister had a middle school orientation. My friends from school were there because their sisters were also on Rose's team, so I decided to just play with them.  When I met up with them, we played a scrimmage. I was the goalie, and Maya and Grace were against each other. Next we had a bunch of competitions like who could do better cartwheels and cool tricks. Maya was the judge. I won a lot of the rounds.  When practice was over, we had to go home. I think I'll go back next time.

EARTHQUAKE

About a month ago, my class and I researched hurricanes. I also learned about tsunamis and earthquakes from some of my classmates.   "We have to be quiet because some people are still testing," Mr. Stillway said today. I was reading, and suddenly, there was a shaking in the ground. For a second, I thought it was a class above us moving desks, and then I realized there was no class above us. "Was that an earthquake?" Mr. Stillway said. He sounded shocked. My heart was racing. Mr. Stillway looked it up. It was an Earthquake! It was so crazy. I never thought I would experience an earthquake. 😝
